Thomas Fuller was born in Burwell on 12th April 1909 (Newmarket Q3-1909 3B:480), baptised in Burwell on 2nd May 1909, son of John and Caroline FULLER (née CLAYDON).
1911 census...Aged 1, he was at Church Lane with his father John FULLER [45] (farm labourer); his mother Caroline [44]; brothers James [17] a farm labourer and Henry [14]; sisters Lizzie [10] and Florrie [4]. All were born in Burwell. Two sisters had died, Caroline [1895-1896] and Sally [1903-1904]. There was a younger brother born in 1913, Albert G. He was a younger brother of Henry John Fuller who died in Belgium in 1917 see here In the 1939 register he was a general labourer, living at Church Lane, Burwell with his parents, father [16-2-1866] a retired farm hand and mother [4-3-1869]. |
Thomas was taken prisoner on 15th February 1942, the day the British surrendered Singapore to the Japanese.
He was put to work and died on the Burma-Siam railway.
